MEET MICHELLE
Hi! I’m Michelle Loretta
With a degree in accounting, it seemed like I had my career laid out for me when I began working in the corporate world at companies like Deloitte and Coach. It wasn’t until I started a stationery business in 2004 that I discovered how incredible the events industry is: talented creatives with passion and drive.
After being immersed in all things weddings for several years, I saw some gaps in industry education. Very few people were talking about business planning, financial strategy, staffing and hiring. I started a blog in 2009 aimed at educating fellow event professionals in the business of weddings.
Sage Wedding Pros quickly took off as it was one of the first B2B resources specifically tailored to creatives who wanted to become better entrepreneurs. Since then, the business has developed into a consultancy and I now work one-on-one with event pros to adjust and redefine their business strategies.
In 2020, Sage Wedding Pros became Be Sage Consulting in reflection of how the brand has grown as a leader in the event and wedding industries.
Bred in Los Angeles, I now call Miami home. I’m a wife to Andy, and mom to Lili & Lucas. Numbers are my jam. Books are my therapy. And a perfect Friday night is sitting on a patio in the tropical heat with friends solving all the world’s problems over a cocktail (or two).
In addition to consulting and online courses, Be Sage Consulting also hosts the annual Be Sage Conference, which welcomes wedding and event entrepreneurs from around the world for a mastermind on all things business. We also partner with hosts nationwide who head up Thursday Therapy, fun casual industry networking with the purpose of creating long-lasting relationships in the industry.
I’ve been invited to share my expertise at numerous national conferences including The Special Event, WeddingWire World, NACE Experience, POSH Retreat, ABC, and BizBash Live, as well as local chapter meetings for WIPA and ILEA. I’m a regular contributor to Wedding Business Magazine and Catersource and have been featured on Special Events, Planners Lounge, WeddingIQ, Aisle Planner, and countless other industry publications. In 2019, I was named to one of the TOP 1000 event professionals by BizBash Magazine.
